Convert Between Standard and Expanded Form
Numbers can be written in different ways. Standard form shows a number using digits, while expanded form shows the value of each digit.
Example:
Standard form: 4,582
Expanded form: 4,000 + 500 + 80 + 2
In this lesson, you will use place value to convert numbers from standard form to expanded form and from expanded form back to standard form. This skill helps us understand what each digit in a number is worth.
