Lesson Introduction: Spell Words with Base Elements โ€“ form, rupt

Today we will learn how to spell and understand words built from the base elements form and rupt.

  • The base form means shape or to make.

  • The base rupt means to break or burst.

When we know the meaning of these bases, we can figure out the meaning of many new words. For example:

  • Transform = to change shape.

  • Disrupt = to break apart or interrupt.

By learning these word parts, spelling becomes easier and we can also understand new vocabulary when we see it.
