🌱 Lesson Introduction: Producers and Consumers
Every living thing in nature has a role to play in the food chain. Some organisms make their own food, while others depend on different organisms for survival.
Producers are living things that can make their own food, usually through photosynthesis. Example: 🌿 plants, algae.
Consumers are living things that cannot make their own food, so they eat other organisms. Example: 🐇 rabbits, 🦁 lions, 🐟 fish.
Think of it like a restaurant:
The chef (producer) prepares the food.
The customers (consumers) come in and eat it.
👉 Question to start the lesson: If there were no producers in the world, what would happen to the consumers?
