🌱 Lesson Introduction: Producers and Consumers

Every living thing in nature has a role to play in the food chain. Some organisms make their own food, while others depend on different organisms for survival.

  • Producers are living things that can make their own food, usually through photosynthesis. Example: 🌿 plants, algae.

  • Consumers are living things that cannot make their own food, so they eat other organisms. Example: 🐇 rabbits, 🦁 lions, 🐟 fish.

Think of it like a restaurant:

  • The chef (producer) prepares the food.

  • The customers (consumers) come in and eat it.

👉 Question to start the lesson: If there were no producers in the world, what would happen to the consumers?
