Topic: Will Power and Won’t Power

This writing assignment is based on Habit 3: Put First Things First from the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens by Sean Covey.

Habit 3 teaches us how to manage our time and priorities. It means doing the most important things first before doing things that waste time.

To practice this habit, we need two kinds of power:

Will Power – the power to make yourself do things that are important, even if they are hard.
Example: Studying for a test, exercising, or finishing homework.

Won’t Power – the power to say no to things that distract us from our goals.
Example: Saying no to too much video games, procrastination, or distractions.

Successful people use both powers. They focus on what matters most and avoid things that prevent them from reaching their goals.

When we learn to put first things first, we become more responsible, disciplined, and successful in school and life.
