Lesson Intro: Compare Properties of Objects

Have you ever picked up two objects and noticed they feel different—like a sponge and a rock, or a metal spoon and a plastic spoon? Even if two things look similar, their properties can be very different.

Today, we’ll learn how to compare objects by observing and describing their properties, such as:

  • Size (big/small, long/short)

  • Shape (round, square, flat)

  • Color (light/dark, bright/dull)

  • Texture (smooth, rough, bumpy)

  • Weight (heavy, light)

  • Hardness (soft, hard)

  • Flexibility (bends easily or not)

By the end of this lesson, you’ll be able to look at two objects and explain how they are the same and how they are different—just like a scientist!
