Many successful people failed before they succeeded. Today we will learn about one of the greatest athletes in history, Michael Jordan, and how failure helped him become great.


Story Time

Michael Jordan loved basketball when he was young. When he tried out for his high school varsity basketball team, something surprising happened.

He was cut from the team.

Jordan was disappointed and went home crying. But instead of quitting, he decided to work harder than ever. He practiced every day, trained longer, and improved his skills.

The next year, he made the team. Later he became a college star, and eventually joined the NBA.

Michael Jordan went on to win:

  • 6 NBA championships

  • 5 MVP awards

  • Olympic gold medals

He is now considered one of the greatest basketball players of all time.

Jordan once said:

"I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed."


What is perseverance?

Perseverance means continuing to try even when things are difficult.
