📘 Lesson Intro: Positive and Negative Connotation
Have you ever noticed how two words can mean almost the same thing—but feel totally different?
That’s called connotation.
Connotation is the feeling a word gives, not just its dictionary meaning.
For example:
“Confident” and “bossy” can both describe someone who speaks up and takes charge.
But confident feels positive, while bossy feels negative.
In this lesson, we’ll learn how word choice can change the tone of a sentence, affect how someone feels, and even change how a message is understood. By the end, you’ll be able to spot positive and negative connotations—and choose stronger words in your own writing and speaking.!
